APPLICATION OPEN: AAD Annual Meeting Registration Scholarship

Dear Colleagues:

On behalf of the International Affairs Committee of the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD), it is my pleasure to invite your society to participate in the 2019 AAD Annual Meeting Registration Scholarship program by nominating two qualified candidates. Over eight hundred scholarships have been awarded since 2006 to dermatologists from eighty-five countries.  Offered to dermatologists from countries outside the United States and Canada, scholarship recipients receive:

  • Waiver of the non-member registration fee for the 2019 AAD Annual Meeting February 28 –  March 5, 2019 in Washington DC
  • Admission to one ticketed half-day course
  • Invitation to attend the International Scholarship Reception and Dinner with AAD leadership on February 28, 2019
  • Invitation to attend the International Member Reception on March 1, 2019

We ask that officers of dermatologic societies complete a nomination form for each of your nominees at https://aad.secure-platform.com/a/solicitations/home/33, an automatic email will be generated and sent to your candidate.  All applications and nominations must be submitted through the AAD website to be considered (no emails).  The criteria for scholarship applicants is as follows:

  • Must be a board-certified dermatologist
  • Nominated by their national dermatologic society
  • Attach a signed and official letter of recommendation (PDF preferred format) to online application.  Only letters of recommendation from recognized national dermatologic societies will be accepted – local societies or foundations may not submit letters without an enclosed letter from the national society
  • Has not received an international scholarship from the AAD in the past

Applicants will be contacted in October regarding the status of their applications. The deadline to submit applications and nominations for the 2019 meeting is September 1, 2018.  Contact Kari Webb at kwebb@aad.org with any further questions.

Sincerely,

Bruce H. Thiers, MD, FAAD
