Avoid routine use of antibiotics for sinus surgery

22. JULI 2025

Rationale:

Prophylactic systemic antibiotics have not been shown to be beneficial in sinus surgery, as they do not reach the infection site effectively. Local treatment achieves higher tissue concentrations and is therefore more effective against common pathogenic microbes. Systemic antibiotics may be considered based on individual factors and risk assessments.
