Avoid routine ultrasound examination of the cervix in pregnant women without a history of preterm birth or late miscarriage

23. MARS 2026

Rationale: The cervix in pregnant women changes throughout pregnancy, normally shortening with increasing gestational age from around the 30th week. For women without risk factors, routine examination of the cervix is not recommended.
