My name is Cristiana Sieiro Santos, I am a rheumatologist based in Spain and a study coordinator for the CHANGE (Coalition for Health and Gender Equity - CHANGE) study that consists of a global team of rheumatologists. This study is funded by ILAR and endorsed by EULAR, APLAR, AFLAR, PANLAR and AWIR.
The CHANGE survey is a cross-sectional self-reported questionnaire translated in various languages that investigates gender equity among rheumatologists and allied health professionals to develop potential solutions to the professional challenges raised. An analysis of this study suggests significant gender-based disparities (results attached and summarised at the bottom of the email), though your region is underrepresented and your support in disseminating the survey to members of your society would significantly advance equity and drive positive change.
As a token of our appreciation, all contributors will be duly acknowledged in the publication of the survey findings.
